EL-NA Farms LLC (the Fenendael Families) are excited to host this year’s Breakfast AGAIN. EL-NA Farms LLC is owned and Operated by Barry, Lonnie, and Shane Fenendael. The Farm name of EL-NA is derived from the first 2 letters of there parents, Eli and Nancy. EL-NA Farms LLC prides itself on being a 6th generation family farm and keeping that legacy going for future generations. The farm was Started in 1858 when Joseph Laurent purchased it from the state of Wisconsin. In 1969, Eli and his wife Nancy took over ownership of the farm, and at that time the farm had around 100 cows with 240 acres. With a renewed spirit and a need to be more efficient, the 3 boys started to grow what the dairy farm is today. What started out with just a few cows and 80 acres has now grown into a farm that milks 2500 cows and operates 7500 acres. With the 7th generation (Kurtis and Jordan) starting to play a role in the everyday operations, the future of the farm is looking bright. EL-NA uses some of the most current technologies for everyday operations, SCR cow collars are used, which track the cows activities and health. Another use of the technology is the use of GPS. EL-NA uses GPS technologies to map, plant, harvest, and track yields on every acre that the farm operates. While the farm is owned by the Fenendael family, It would not be where it is today without the help of our great employees. Much has changed in the 160+ years since Joseph Laurent started laying the foundation of sustainability, with there passion and dedication to being an impactful dairy farm family. Not only in Kewaunee County, but also in the State of Wisconsin.
